Actions that providers and commissioners of health and social care services should take to prepare for, and manage, the risks of a no-deal exit scenario.

Sir Chris Wormald’s letter introduces the operational readiness guidance.

This guidance, developed and agreed with NHS England and NHS Improvement, will support the health and care system in England to be prepared for a no-deal scenario.

It summarises the areas where the department is focusing no-deal exit contingency planning, and where local action is required.

This guidance represents the most up-to-date information available at the time of publishing.

Further operational guidance will be provided to support the health and care system to prepare for the UK leaving the EU before 29 March 2019.

This guidance was published alongside 2 letters to commissioners and providers of adult social care that gave a Brexit planning update.
