CIF funds two year procurement apprenticeship at Northern Care Alliance NHS Group

Construction Impact Framework are celebrating the appointment of a fully funded procurement apprentice at Northern Care Alliance NHS Group. The newly positioned apprentice will complete a two year procurement apprenticeship funded by CIF; achieving a Level 4 Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification, whilst gaining continuous experience within the Northern Care Alliance procurement team.

The apprenticeship has provided a great opportunity for Caroline who was previously unemployed and has proved that apprenticeships have no age restrictions. Age, gender and employment status should not be barriers to employment or education and here at CIF we are proud to break down these barriers both internally and in our external investment. As a social value pioneer we have worked with Northern Care Alliance to ensure the funding provided for this apprenticeship provides a real difference to someone’s life, who would otherwise be unemployed.

Not only has this investment provided employment for Caroline, but once qualified she will have a clear career path within the group. The CIPS qualification will allow her to progress in her career as a procurement professional within the NHS group adding professional value to the health sector. CIF is proud to be able to directly reinvest profits to help relieve the ever growing burdens on our national public services.

On beginning her new role and career, Caroline ( NCA Procurement Apprentice) told CIF-

“Many people assume apprentices are teenagers or under the age of 25. I am delighted to have been offered this CIPS apprenticeship provided by CIF, as not only will I receive on the job experience and training for a higher level certificate, but it will help me become more knowledgeable in procurement and an integral part of the team. Ultimately, I expect to spend the rest of my career in a procurement role as a result of becoming qualified. Thank you so much.”
