North West Regional Coordinator

Joanne is a Senior Category Manager at NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative.  She is  North West Regional Coordinator for the HCSA National Council.

Joanne has enjoyed a fantastic 29 year career in NHS Procurement, working in a variety of roles and categories at local, regional and national level.

Joanne’s career began in 1990 at Mersey Regional Health Authority, opposite the Runcorn NHS Logistics Depot, as a part time procurement admin assistant, before moving through the ranks before accepting a secondment opportunity as Deputy Supplies Customer Service Manager in Salford.  She then went onto develop and lead a newly established procurement team at Salford Community Healthcare NHS Trust.  These roles provided an excellent insight into the daily challenges our members face.

Having a real passion for customer and patient focused procurement the ideal move into category management came in 2005 when Jo joined the Greater Manchester Collaborative Procurement Hub as Category Manager for Business Services, before then moving into roles with East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub, undertaking regional and national review of temporary staffing usage, and now North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative, where Jo leads the HR & People Category team.

Joanne is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, chairs the HR & People Category Board, and several sub-regional temporary staffing clusters, and also represents the North in all aspects of the Workforce Alliance between
