Stephen Pickard is a Senior Category Manager at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership – Procurement Services where he oversees the Appliances, Dressings and Home Care categories. He is also the Welsh Regional Coordinator for the HCSA National Stakeholder Group

During his five years with NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, Stephen and his team have delivered a number of successful All Wales Procurement projects, including the expansion of NWSSP’s Community Dressings Service which won the GO Awards Wales Procurement Project of the Year 2020 (Sub-£20M). This follows Stephen’s success in 2018 where he was the HCSA’s Procurement Development Programme Overall Winner, after which he served a year as a HCSA Honorary Trustee.

Stephen is passionate about sustainability and is Vice Chair of NWSSP’s Sustainable Development Group, a collection of like-minded professionals whose aim is to realise the exciting opportunities available within the public sector to deliver more sustainable outcomes for our future generations. In 2019 the Group developed NWSSP’s Sustainable Procurement Code of Practice which is an industry leading innovation that has received national acclaim, including HCSA’s Supply Chain Initiative Award 2019, and Go Awards Wales Procurement Leadership of the Year 2020.
