The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the culmination of a decade in which over £180 million has been saved for our NHS members across the region and beyond.

The Hub is a multi-award-winning NHS organisation which provides member Trusts and other NHS bodies with strategic purchasing support, procurement expertise and commercial skills.

The procurement needs of both NHS provider and commissioning customers are supported by the Hub, which delivers a wider range of services than ever before. These include, but are not limited to aggregated collaborative procurement of clinical and non-clinical goods and services, pharmacy procurement support, service frameworks and contract management, e-enablement and data analysis and procurement related training and events as well as other value added services and bespoke projects.

The Hub is a member of the NHS Commercial Alliance, along with NHS Commercial Solutions, which is a strategic partnership designed to share experience and deliver better value to member Trusts. The NHS Commercial Alliance provides procurement services to a number of customers outside our home regions, including all 14 UK Ambulance Services spanning England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Both organisations are members of the NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP) which includes the other two NHS hubs, namely the London Procurement Partnership and the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative. The NHS CPP represents around 60% of NHS Trusts in England and has a supporting role in the procurement of goods and services worth billions of pounds to the NHS.

The Hub is a not-for-profit organisation and seeks only to recover its operational overheads. Over £180 million has been saved for our members since the Hub was set up in 2007. It is collectively owned by its shareholders and is headed by Chief Executive David John, who had led the Hub since its inception.
