The HCSA Executive & Council are pleased to announce that Simon Walsh has been appointed to the role of Communications Lead.
The role involves leading on all aspects of the Association’s communication activities ranging from Twitter to Heavy Hitters (briefing Government&Parliamentary figures). The HCSA also receives an increasing number of media enquiries reflecting our growing profile and influence.
Current Chairman (Helen Lisle) and incoming Chairman (Alan Hoskins) issued a joint statement reflecting their recognition of how important effective communications are to the HCSA
‘We know that raising our profile and getting across our message is key to the success of the HCSA- we are confident Simon will achieve this.’
Simon thanked the Executive & Council for their confidence in him and said he is greatly looking forward to undertaking the Communications role:
‘I celebrate 30 years NHS service this year and a similar length of membership of our Association- I am excited by this new role having had the honour of being Chairman; having seen the success of Helen’s Chairmanship and now looking forward to Alan’s term of office. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the HCSA.’
Simon will be very ably supported by Andy Coley from NHS South of England Procurement Services who provides key support.
