Dear Member,

The HCSA would like to say a massive thank you to each and every member of the NHS for their huge support and dedication which is being delivered, during immensely difficult times and under serious pressure to cope with increasing demand from seriously ill patients.

Lord Hunt, HCSA President, issued a statement recently “I have watched with pride the great efforts of all Trust and National Bodies staff who support our NHS at this time.  Your unfailing dedication at this time has been immense and I am so proud.”

Jim Spittle recently tweeted “All NHS teams deserve a significant thanks for their dedicated and tireless work.”

The HCSA is greatly impressed and proud of the tireless work being delivered across the whole of the NHS and is proud to see how each and everyone has responded to support this crisis.

This is a fast changing and challenging situation but we are confident that we will continue to effectively respond in support of our clinical colleagues and patients

All HCSA members are actively encouraged to keep up to date with NHS Supply Chain and Public Health England updates to best support Supply Chain resilience.

Alan Hoskins, HCSA Chief Officer and Simon Walsh, Deputy Chief Officer are working extremely closely and are in regular contact with Jim Spittle, Chair of SCCL, our President Lord Hunt and various critical contact leads within NHS Supply Chain to ensure that stocks of PPE and ventilators are delivered to everyone across the country and that adequate stocks are secured to ensure continuity of supply for as long as necessary.

There has been immense frustration regarding supply of adequate, fit for purpose product, delivered on time to the appropriate receipt points, please be assured that our HCSA team are in daily contact with NHS Supply Chain to flag the critical issues that lack of supply creates.  We are committed to ensuring all our best endeavours to ensure everyone receives the stocks they need to support safe healthcare.

Any updates that HCSA are aware of are provided to our 20 National Regional Leads who in-turn will provide regular updates as and when these are available across their individual regions.

Please also check twitter for updates as HCSA and a number of key contacts across the NHS are posting daily updates to alert the wider NHS community of changes as they occur @HCSAprocurement.
