After a career spanning 36 years in NHS procurement, HCSA Chief Officer and Director of NHS South of England Procurement Services Alan Hoskins will be retiring from the industry this summer.
The decision follows an extremely challenging year both professionally and personally for Alan as he combined supporting ageing family members during COVID with overcoming the wide-ranging challenges in the NHS as a result of the pandemic.
He will take the next few months to consider opportunities, recharge and pursue new challenges while looking to maintain his role within the HCSA.
Alan said: “I’m extremely proud to have played a part in ensuring that the Trusts my team served never went without a PPE product during the pandemic as well as seeing the vaccination centre in Portsmouth go live. I now hope to put the extra time available to me to good use by driving HCSA forward with renewed vigour while enhancing my golf game, spending time with family and undertaking any other interesting roles that may come my way. Any offers welcome.”
HCSA Chairman Mark Roscrow added: “The Trustees, Lord Hunt and myself all greatly acknowledge the huge contribution Alan has made to the HCSA over the years and look forward to continuing to work together while wishing him the very best with all new endeavours.”
