The Annual HCSA Summer Conference in Solihull once again provided a platform for lively and vigorous debate on the key current issues of NHS Procurement.
A sizzling Solihull day saw 150 delegates from across the NHS commercial family come together to better understand current initiatives across the landscape to ‘Transform NHS Procurement.’
The day commenced with Simon Walsh (HCSA Communications Lead) paying tribute to the work of NHS procurement in support of recent major incidents. Simon went on to congratulate HCSA Trustees Chairman Mark Roscrow on his appointment as a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
- Morning sessions covered the Nationally Contracted Products programme; Clinical Evaluation and the Modernisation of Procurement at University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust.
- The afternoon sessions covered Professional Development; Future Operating Model and Supply Chain Improvement.
Alan Hoskins (HCSA Chairman) opened and closed the day reflecting on how ‘the HCSA was developing its future organisation’ and in particular ‘influencing the national agenda’.
Alan commented ‘it was a great event offered free to members and covering a wide range of topics. The HCSA is the only network for NHS procurement staff and once again the value of the Summer Conference was very clear.’
