We are looking for looking for two experienced Senior Category Managers, one role will be leading the Minimally Invasive and Gloves (surgical and examination) Category Teams, while the second role will be focused on Procedure Packs, Tray Wrap & Sterilisation Products, and pre-operative skin preparation. We are looking for two experienced Senior Category Managers to lead and inspire a team to deliver a world class service to the NHS and provide creative, cost effective solutions for their toughest challenges.

These roles will have line management responsibility for a small team of Category Managers and Procurement Contract Support within our Sterile Intervention equipment and associates consumable products (operating theatre products) category tower and they are responsible for both the delivery of the benefits of the category strategy and the ongoing development and evolution of the strategy. Each Senior Category Manager will work alongside dedicated Clinical and Implementation Managers and colleagues across the wider NHS Supply Chain Family to deliver the benefits to the NHS.
You will foster a highly professional and responsive client service approach and act as the main point of contact for the category, building and maintaining strong relationships with all key stakeholders along delivering opportunity assessments and award recommendations to NHS Trusts and then supporting the implementation of the subsequent contracts and commitments.
This will include: –
Leading, managing, and inspiring a team.
Managing a portfolio of categories for the English NHS.
Performance manage against programme targets and ensure best value for money.
Foster highly professional and responsive client service approach, acting as the main point of contact for the category.
Lead and manage multiple programmes from tendering to contract award and ongoing relationship management.
Delivery of category strategies across the portfolio of categories, keeping to timescales, delivery of the identified benefits and management of suppliers to ensure competition within the market.
Build and manage effective relationships with stakeholder groups (within Trusts such as Procurement Teams, Management and Clinical teams), suppliers and expert networks through the NHS and Supplier Landscapes.
Who you are:
An established Senior Category Manager from within the NHS, Healthcare, or other sectors where you have thrived in complex stakeholder environments and delivered significant benefits.
Able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholder organisations, while supporting the team to deliver both operational and programme deliverables.
Successful candidates will be able to manage conflicting priorities and delivery programmes of work that achieve challenging organisational KPIs.
Keen interest in working in these healthcare categories that are incredibly important to the NHS, whether that be:
Examination gloves that are worn by a very significant proportion of front-line NHS Staff, through to the advanced technologies that are represented in the Minimally Invasive category.
Procedure Packs, great opportunity delivery significant cost and efficiency/rationalisation benefits to the NHS, while ensuring a resilient supply chain.

Already a car driver, willing to travel frequently – to NHS Trusts and Supplier locations throughout the UK, with possible foreign travel.
Salary up to £53k dependent on experience.
