This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and experienced leader to join one of the largest and most successful hospitals as Head of Supplier Relationship Management and accelerate our progress to becoming one of the most advanced Digital Procurement teams in the NHS.

You will join the one of the most progressive Trusts in the NHS at the most exciting time in its history in terms of driving the adoption of digital transformation and innovation.

The Head of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) is a newly created role and will be responsible for supporting the establishment and management of a new, strategic, commercial function in the Data, Technology & Information (DT&i) Directorate. This will be a specialist, qualified, DT&i-owned, Commercial and Procurement function, and will operate as the enabler between the Trust and supply market capabilities, ensuring the Directorate and wider organisations extract maximum value from its supply chain. It will deliver extensive expert-led end-to-end strategic sourcing and supplier management activities.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of SRM is a member of the Directorate’s senior management team which has collective responsibility for remaining aligned to the wider digital, technology and sourcing strategies. Whist this post is located at GSTT, working relationships across GSTT, KCH and all NHS organisations across South East London (SEL) will be essential, and there is an expectation that the role will encompass work across all three, as agreed with the Chief Digital Information Officer of GSTT and KCH.

Working with the Chief Commercial Officer and senior sourcing team, the Head of SRM will be responsible for the development and execution of the supplier management strategy as part of embedding a long-term partner ecosystem and related development programme.

You will develop an effective, long-term, strategic supplier relationship and contract management programme to secure the delivery of year-on-year benefits, including cost efficiencies and relevant value-led initiatives.

You will proactively identify and deliver key innovation, service efficiencies and improvements from emerging and existing relationships in the supply chain, while supporting the day-to-day management of key, strategic suppliers and contracts.

You will seek to exceed customer requirements and expectations by maximising value in actively managing key suppliers and the supply market through the development of a strategic approach to supplier and contract management.

You will also establish appropriate levels of assurance and due diligence across the supply chain to develop a consistent approach to risk management. You will be the professional commercial lead on specific, high profile, high risk supply and service contracts.

You will work collaboratively with senior clinical staff, managers and external suppliers to influence and improve overall commercial performance, and engage all key stakeholders in the development and delivery of all strategic supplier relationships and all major and critical contracts.

Another key aspect to the role, will be establishing processes, procedures and dashboards to ensure that suppliers are monitored regularly to ensure that quality, price and performance standards are being met.

The Head of SRM will deliver and embed modern supplier and contract management capabilities built upon category management principles while seeking to exploit key relevant advancements in procurement platforms and systems.
