Laura has been a member of HCSA since she began working as Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement at NHS London Procurement Partnership in 2012. Her career has seen her provide marketing and communications services for numerous UK and global brands including Colmans of Norwich, Crosse & Blackwell, Nestle and Samsung, Norwegian packaging group Elopak and Swiss group Gretag Imaging.
From 2010, Laura worked within the NHS, initially with the leadership team of the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, and then from 2012 until 2019 with NHS London Procurement Partnership. During her time there, Laura was instrumental in growing LPP’s membership and the development of the NHS Procurement in Partnership collaboration.
Laura is currently working in NHS commissioning at South Warwickshire CCG, and in addition provides support and advice to a number of charity and not-for-profit organisations in her home town, Leamington.
She is vocal in her support for and of NHS procurement professionals – particularly during the pandemic. Laura says: “It has been clear this year that there is an element in government which has failed to recognise, let alone acknowledge, the value, professionalism and sheer hard work which the overwhelming number of NHS procurement staff and teams have brought to managing purchasing and supply during Covid. I would value the opportunity to bring my skills and experience back to the HCSA as a Trustee in order to help correct the balance. The HCSA is continuing to go from strength to strength, and it would be a privilege to work with you all as we look ahead to the next 60 years.”
