How does the programme work?

The CIPS Corporate Award for NHS is a procurement and supply learning programme that has been designed to incorporate terminology, practices and unique challenges specific to the NHS.

The programme is delivered using different learning methods including practical assessed assignments, interactive workshops and live business projects to make learning relevant.

There are two levels – Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner. The successful completion of Practitioner level results in Diploma membership of CIPS. Successful completion of the Advanced Practitioner level results in full membership (MCIPS), subject to three years’ experience in a responsible procurement role.

It takes two and a half years to complete both levels with an average of 100 hours of self-study per level. Within each level there are several modules, each comprising two face-to-face training days and coursework based on real issues encountered by NHS staff.
