Click here ![]() Happy New Year and welcome to our new and updated Model Hospital newsletter Each fortnight we will provide you with all the latest updates, insights and developments to the Model Hospital, including the latest data updates to Model Community Health, Model Mental Health and Model Ambulance (model.nhs.uk). We will also be including information on some of the exciting projects and For our first issue of 2020, we have some new updates to share with you across our Clinical Service Lines, an update on the 2018/19 Annual Data Refresh, and changes to our Helpdesk communications. We look forward to working with you throughout 2020 – visit anytime at https://model.nhs.uk Model NHS Team Update on the forthcoming Costs and Opportunities Annual Data refresh Earlier this week, we received the Patient-Level Information and Costing Systems (PLICS) data, collected from trusts by NHS Digital in August / September last year. Our team is now dedicating all efforts to process and refresh the costing metrics and opportunities in the Model Hospital as quickly as possible. With this annual data update, Reference Cost data will be replaced with 18/19 National Cost collection (PLICS) data. Users can expect all cost metrics (e.g. Cost per Weighted Activity Unit) to be updated, alongside the headline ‘opportunities’ that are presented on your homepage. We expect the Annual Data refresh to take place over the next month and will update on specific timelines as soon as the data have been processed by our analysts. We understand that the official release of New GIRFT workstreams on the Model Hospital: ENT and Neurosurgery data We now have information and data representing ten of the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) workstreams live on the Model Hospital. Metrics for ophthalmology were added in November 2019 and ENT and Neurosurgery data were added in December 2019. Log-in to the Model Hospital and visit the Clinical Service Lines area to view all the available metrics for your trust. If you are on twitter, why not also follow @NHSGIRFT and @Model_Hospital to keep updated on any further developments. The Pathology area in the Model Hospital has been updated with the latest data. In the coming weeks, two more metrics: ‘Test per capita’ and ‘Cost per capita’ will be updated using the 2018/19 population figures. The figures currently displayed for these two metrics are based on 2017/18 catchment populations New platform for our Model Masterclass Webinar series ![]() Thank you to everyone who watched our Model Masterclass webinar series throughout 2019. After this date, we will be moving all our existing Model Masterclass webinars to a new platform. Further details will be provided shortly. We are very keen to hear from you about your ![]() Mental Health Inpatient Data webinar – 22nd January, 2020 Our next Model Masterclass will take place on 22nd January, 2020. This webinar will provide a “how to” on using the two different sources of Mental Health inpatient data (Model Mental Health Service and Acute Data Dashboard) and will be relevant for all trusts that deliver mental health services.
