Our journey from transactional to transformational – helping you respond to national challenges
Welcome to this edition of NHS SBS News; keeping you updated with what’s happening in the company and how we’re helping you keep your back offices running.
As part of our ongoing £10 million investment in new systems and technologies, I’m delighted to report that we’ve hit some significant milestones recently. This includes our automated VAT system, which ensures that 96% of purchase invoices have VAT treatments automatically assigned, as well as our custom built e-pay tool, new scanning technology and e-invoicing. Our increasing NPS score of +18 reflects the changes that we are making and the journey we are on, which is further evidenced by the growing number of contract renewals and new clients signing up to our shared services.
Our ambition is to make sure that our services develop in a way that makes it easier for you to achieve the targets that are being set nationally.
For example, our trailblazer work with Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust, a national Scan4Safety pilot, is supporting the DH’s procurement strategy and means our systems are now GS1 and PEPPOL compliant. This work is set to benefit everyone: staff, patients and the NHS as a whole.
The investment we have made into our services is a commitment to you and the future of NHS Shared Business Services.
Over the past few months, we’ve been taking to the stage at various national events and conferences to tell people about what we’re doing. Our director of procurement, Peter Akid, for example, addressed the Kings Fund explaining the practical ways trusts can deliver better value in procurement by thinking a little differently. And our director of finance and accounting, Stephen Sutcliffe, talked about robotics at the FD Exchange in Amsterdam recently.
