The HCSA has welcomed the Department of Health and Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy document ‘Making a reality of the Accelerated Access Review’
NHS Procurement staff are increasingly involved in talking to suppliers about new products and technologies that inevitably involves trying to navigate the complex decision making processes.
The creation of a new NHS England Commercial Unit will greatly aid this process as very often the absence of an agreed commercial framework to enable purchase is a significant barrier. A national perspective that offers easier access to Frameworks and Contracts will make the choices at local level for more easier.
The HCSA hopes that members will read the document with a view to how best the ambition can be delivered within their organisation.
