On Monday 2nd July Preeya Bailie starts as the new Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at NHS Improvement, leading the delivery of Procurement improvements across providers for NHS Improvement. Preeya takes over from Kate Greenbank who has been leading in this role, as interim, since November last year.
Preeya Bailie joins from Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust where she was the Associate Director of Procurement, responsible for all non-pay expenditure excluding pharmacy.
In her time at there, Preeya worked closely with all stakeholders to involve them in procurements, rationalisation of products, to switch to better value products and introduced new initiatives to save the trust £4.3million in her first year.
Preeya brings a breadth of public sector procurement experience including the establishment of frameworks, outsourcing of services, setting up of joint ventures and programs for income generation. She has created and developed procurement functions. Preeya is a big advocate of the STP and collaboration, and has worked closely with her NHS colleagues to benefit from economies of scale where appropriate.
We welcome her to the team at NHS Improvement and look forward to Preeya leading the NHS through the changes over the next few years and the delivery of significant Cost Improvement Programme Initiatives that are required.
