One of our biggest NHS Trusts is making a significant investment in its Procurement & Supply Chain team.
Oxford University Hospitals is recruiting procurement & supply chain professionals at all levels as part of the expansion of the team. The new structure is designed to support the new Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy that was approved by the Trust Executive in 2018.
The strategy is based on four elements:
- Strategic Sourcing – Divisional Procurement/Medical Technology
- Strategic Sourcing – Corporate & Non-Clinical
- Supply Chain Transformation
- Commercial / Contract Management
Gary Welch, Director of Procurement & Supply Chain, explains:
“The new strategy sets out the importance of the Procurement & Supply Chain team in supporting the Trust to meet its objectives – not only its financial objectives, but also patient care, service, and operational objectives.
The focus will be on developing value-adding opportunities and harnessing the potential for our supply chain to support the Trust in delivering better care to our patients and in improving operational performance.
Cost reduction activity remains important, but the team is committed to working constructively and collaboratively with our suppliers to become the ‘partner of choice’ for key suppliers across the healthcare sector – a key strategic partner for product/service development, research, innovation and working collaboratively to improve healthcare for patients.”
The first phase of recruitment is currently underway and details of the roles can be found on NHS Jobs.
