Price Benchmarking v3 is almost here…
PB v3 (inc. PPIB) will soon be available for all users, giving you greater visibility of your data and more accurate price benchmarking to enhance your capability.
Since revealing PB v3 was in development in our January newsletter, we’ve received lots of interest about what it will offer. Here are just a few highlights:
- Clean MPCs to drive more accurate and complete benchmarks
- Extracted product codes from line descriptions (where product codes are not provided)
- Clean product descriptions
- View all your PO data, including what doesn’t make it into PB and why
- Increased limits on table exports allowing you to view/export more
- Login and activity stats visible to drive local usage
- Compare price paid across periods to see the biggest % changes
- Previous ‘Index’ snapshots so you can monitor progress
- Enhanced Patient Identifiable Data removal
- Plus, other Functionality and Speed improvements
In addition to these benefits, we’re finding ways to offer an even faster turnaround when it comes to importing your data using Machine Learning.
We’ll be announcing the go-live date soon, so watch this space.
Last month we welcomed the Northern Ireland Health Executive into PB. Along with the growing number of Scottish health boards, this now provides you with price benchmarking across the UK.
We’re also working closely with HCSA, ABHI and HFMA to develop market indices (we’ll announce more in due course), as well as key partners on an analytics certification programme and self-study programmes where you can learn more about our tools from the comfort of your desk. All of our bite-size videos are available online, although you can view the latest one below: How to easily search PB for more than just one product.
Finally, we’re working hard to deliver an even better experience for you. This not only means offering PB or PD, but a whole heap of sign-up options to help meet your requirements. You’ll still be able to share the same consistent and independent data that you’ve come to trust over the years from us, but you’ll also be able to select the product or insight that’s most relevant to you.
And with plans to expand our support and customer success teams this year, we’ll continue to be here whenever you need guidance or help.
As always, it’s you that helps make it happen. So do get in contact if you’d like more support, have ideas you’d like to share about our tools, or simply want to get more involved.
Want to search for more than one product?
Whether it be a supplier or a product, this two-minute video shows you how…
If you took part in our PPIB training with NHSI, you’ll notice we covered some of this in our sessions. If not, it’s well worth watching… it opens PB and allows you to do so much more. Including using the humble ‘?’ which we didn’t cover in training.
Congratulations NHS Wales!
NHS Wales has been shortlisted for the HSJ Value Awards (Finance/Procurement Initiative) for proactively using our Price Benchmarking tool and saving over £1m
Following our PB training sessions with NHS Wales, the team has kept its motivation going with a little healthy competition… resulting in some significant improvements.
“The Welsh Shared Service teams have embraced AdviseInc’s Price Benchmarking system and it’s now a vital tool in business as usual procurement across NHS Wales. We’ve even created an internal league table to see who can save the most money from the tool with prizes for the winners. This has got the team really engaged and driven some fantastic results. So far we’ve delivered over £1m of saving using the tool and we continue to identify more.
Mark Roscrow MBE
Director of Procurement Services
Good luck Mark, Andy and team!
