Supplying to the Public Sector – changes are coming from 1 January 2021

With the end of the transition period now just five weeks away, it is extremely important that your business is ready for our new relationship with the EU. That includes being aware of new rules regarding public procurement.

From 23:00 on 31 December 2020, we will publish information on public sector contract opportunities in the UK, on the new Find a Tender service (FTS):
https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Search

  • FTS is free to use and replaces the role of Tenders Electronic Daily, the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU/TED) for procurements in the UK.

which can be used to access a wide range of opportunities to supply the public sector

  • Existing Contracts Finder account holders will be able to use the same login credentials for Find a Tender. As an SRS account holder, simply go to https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/login and sign in with your SRS credentials. Your account will be upgraded automatically and you will be able to log in to FTS with the same credentials in order to search for UK notices, save search results and set up and receive email alerts.

If you wish to access public sector contract opportunities in the EU, you may continue to do so via OJEU/TED at https://ted.europa.eu. Information about procurements launched by UK contracting authorities before 23:00 on 31 December 2020 will be available via OJEU/TED or the existing portals mentioned above. Further guidance is available: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/public-sector-procurement-from-1-january-2021

Enquiries can be directed to the Crown Commercial Service Helpdesk on
0345 410 2222
info@crowncommercial.gov.uk

You can find out what other actions you may need to take by using the checker tool at https://www.gov.uk/transition and keep up to date with regular business readiness bulletins too: https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/UKDECC/subscriber/new?topic_id=UKDECC_166.

Further information for buyers:

If you currently use a third party provider (‘eSender’) to submit notices to OJEU/TED, you will be able to continue to use them provided that the eSender successfully completes integration work to post notices to FTS. A list of eSenders who have successfully completed integration work can be found here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/public-sector-procurement-from-1-january-2021

If the above doesn’t apply and you need to post notices directly to FTS then click on “apply to post notices” after you have logged in: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/login.

Your account will be automatically upgraded to allow you to post notices to both FTS and Contracts Finder. Further guidance for buyers on FTS is available in PPN 08/20:

We will only contact you about important updates to this information. To unsubscribe, or for enquiries about registration, contact the Crown Commercial Service Helpdesk on 0345 410 2222 or info@crowncommercial.gov.uk
