HCSA Acting Chief Officer Simon Walsh has sent a personal thank you to Lancashire Procurement Cluster for their trailblazing work.
In the correspondence, Simon Walsh said the work undertaken by Sharon Robson and her senior team across the Lancashire Health Economy and the open sharing of their experiences is sector leading and reflects an early ICS approach that is setting new benchmarks for NHS procurement.
In response, Sharon Robson replied: “Your message is particularly valued because as an organisation, we are still less than four years old. It is feels like a great honour to receive such a message and I will share it with the whole of the LPC Team including, of course, the Directors of Finance and Chief Executives of the Trusts we serve. They were the instigators of our collaborative procurement and logistics service and their proactive and positive support is integral to our continued success.”
During his time as Acting Chief Officer, Simon Walsh is taking the opportunity to thank a number of exemplar organisations that have raised the profile of NHS Procurement and delivered ‘above and beyond’ .
He added: “The HCSA founding vision in 1960 was to ‘represent and celebrate’ our work and I’m glad I can continue to do this in 2021!”
