Kath has over 40 years’ experience of NHS procurement and strategic category management experience, including roles within the former Purchasing and Supply Agency working as Theatre Buyer for NHS Supply Chain and at local Trust level.

Kath’s current role, which she leaves at the end of May, is that of CPP Category Tower Director for Orthopaedics, Trauma, Spine & Ophthalmology (Tower 4). Kath now manages a team of over 30 staff working across all sub-specialities within orthopaedic and ophthalmology.

The team work with local Procurement staff to understand spend, develop workplans and support an end-to end engagement process to secure the best deals for patients, ensuring clinicians have the right products to deliver quality patient outcomes and the Trust secures the most commercially advantageous pricing to deliver savings, in line with Lord Carter’s principles to reduced un-warranted variation in productivity and efficiency.
