It was with great sadness that HCSA learnt of the passing away of Allan Rivans.
Allan was a much liked and respected member of the team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and in the NHS procurement community as a whole.
He was a regular attendee at HCSA conferences and events and he was always an active and passionate contributor.
In January 2021, Allan revealed that he had undergone brain surgery and spoke of the ‘compassion and understanding’ he had received at the time from the Radiotherapy & Oncology department.
The NHS Supply Chain Midlands Board described Allan as a “a challenging (but constructive) customer board member” who was “genuine and supportive in his dealings” and a ‘real loss to the NHS community’.
HCSA East Midlands Regional Coordinators David Streets and Emma James added: “Allan was a much admired figure in the region and a very popular member of the Midlands procurement community. He was always open to share the good work his team achieved at NGH and was an advocate of improving procurement at a local and regional level through the Procurement and Commercial Standards. He was also always happy to offer support and will be greatly missed by all his colleagues.”
Everyone at HCSA would like to express their condolences to Allan’s family and friends and wish them all the very best for the future.
