HCSA acknowledges that the system is under intense pressure right now as hundreds of items of medical equipment and consumables are placed under strict demand management.
NHS Supply Chain data from its demand management system shows 271 products in the two most stringent levels of rationing, as of 17 August, including 95 under central command and control.
This has once again put immense pressure on procurement and supply chain staff across the NHS to maintain continuity of supply and BAU.
As we work closely together, we are calling on open and transparent feedback from suppliers and the system to work as one at national, regional and local level to navigate this challenging period.
