HCSA would like to wish a very happy New Year to all members and the entire NHS procurement and supply chain community.
2024 was a banner year for the organisation as we expanded our events schedule by taking on delivery of the Excellence in Supply (EIS) regional events and awards, moved to the new location of Telford for our annual conference and underwent our first rebrand to usher in a new era for HCSA.
Changing locations for our annual conference is never an easy decision to make but we feel the positive response to 2024’s event has vindicated the decision, and we’re delighted to be returning to Telford - with a few tweaks based on feedback - for 2025.
The timing of our well-received rebrand, unveiled at our annual conference, was no accident as the new modern look comes ahead of us celebrating our 65th anniversary in 2025. This milestone will be marked at a special event at the House of Lords in the summer which will be a highlight of the year. In addition, 2025 will see us continuing to evolve and review our processes to support our expanding programme of events, L&D and member services.
The next 12 months will no doubt bring its challenges but also its rewards for the procurement community as it remains in the spotlight especially with the UK COVID-19 Inquiry entering 4 weeks of public hearings on procurement in March 2025. Hopefully, some valuable lessons can come out of those hearings and the community can be stronger for them.
Finally, we’d like to wish all our partners, sponsors, and members a happy, healthy and successful 2025 and hope to see some of you at the HCSA/HFMA joint procurement forum on 22 January.
As we approach 5,000 members, we are acutely aware of the pressure you are all continuing to work under and reiterate our gratitude for all your hard work and our commitment to support, develop and celebrate the NHS procurement and supply chain community.
