As the COVID-19 Inquiry enters the stage of oral hearings on procurement, HCSA would like to once again recognise the extraordinary work of the NHS procurement community at that time.

At national, regional and local level you stepped up as one to produce your very best as recognised by the HCSA President’s Award 2020 which was given by Lord Hunt to the whole NHS procurement community for their work during the pandemic.

The COVID inquiry may well bring back some difficult memories for members but we trust these will be tempered by the pride you should all feel for overcoming the most challenging of periods.

It is the hope of the HCSA that the hearings that have started this week will ensure the facts of that extraordinary period are established and recorded in order to offer teachable moments for the future.

You can watch past sessions and live hearings from the COVID-19 Inquiry here.
