HCSA Chairman Mark Roscrow MBE retires today after a career dedicated to NHS procurement.
Mark, currently Programme Director, Procurement Services, NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, first joined the NHS in 1978 to work for the Mid Glamorgan Health Authority Supplies Department and went on to become one of the most influential figures in the development of NHS procurement in Wales.
During his time he created a unified procurement service for Wales and was notable for supporting the influx of young talent into the community and encouraging supplier and procurement staff collaboration through supplier visits.
Mark received the National Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Award in 2012 for a lifetime of outstanding achievement and his proudest moment of acknowledgement came when he was named an MBE in 2017.
His time at the HCSA as Chairman has been of vital importance to the growth and evolution of the organisation as it reaches its 65th anniversary in 2025. He rose to particular prominence during the COVID pandemic when he became a key figure on national TV and radio representing HCSA and the NHS procurement community with appearances on Channel 4, BBC Radio, Channel 5 and others.
We wish Mark all the best for his retirement and are delighted to say that he will be continuing in his role as HCSA Chairman.
