Last month the government announced that Senior NHS managers would receive a 5% pay rise this year, while Agenda for Change staff will get 5.5% and doctors 6%. This is currently expected to be paid in October.

At that time, the government also accepted in principle an NHS Pay Review Body recommendation to add intermediate pay points to all Agenda for Change bands from 8a and above. This has now been ratified by the NHS Staff Council, which is made up of union and NHS employer representatives, and associated pay – backdated to April – is due to be paid in November.

However, details of how much of it will be funded by national government, rather than from within existing overspent NHS budgets, have still not been announced by government.

You can view the revised Agenda for Change pay scales here.
