On 21 October 2022, the Government Commercial Function published the following relating to the new procurement regime proposed under the Procurement Bill 2022-23:
• Transforming Public Procurement - planning and preparation checklist. This checklist provides initial actions for contracting authorities in four key areas: policies and processes, systems (including the readiness of organisations to meet the new data requirements), people (including training needs), and transitioning to the new regime over the next 18 months.
• An update on the official learning and development offer for contracting authorities. The guide sets out the learning and development package being provided by the Cabinet Office on the new regime and how teams can plan their training programmes in order to be ready for when the changes come into effect in 2023. It is intended that the range of learning and development packages offered by the Cabinet Office will provide an overview of the proposed changes to the regime and the new flexibilities for contracting authorities.
